January 26 : suspected ULFA-I militants triggered two blasts near Digboi town in Tinsukia District. Tinsukia Superintendent of Police (SP) A.P. Tiwari stated that "While one blast was triggered on the outskirts of Digboi town, another blast took place near a drain in the town. Both were low intensity crude bombs and there is no injury or any damage".

February 1: Three persons including a rickshaw puller and two pedestrians, were injured in a grenade explosion on Sib Bari Road in Hailakandi town of Hailakandi District. Witness said renade was hurled from a speeding car near a Shiva temple on the road.

February 5: A bomb blast occurred at Kazidahar village near Sonai in Cachar District, injuring a 10-year-old boy Zabir Husain Barbhiuya.

February 13: Unknown persons travelling in a cycle hurled a grenade at the house of a businessman, identified as Biren Agarwal, in Sepon Market in Sibsagar District, killing his younger brother Situ Agarwal and their driver Dimbeswar Bhuyan
