December 21: Three non-locals were killed and four others injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion, in a tea stall run by a non-local at Khoyathong near Motbung bus parking, in Imphal West District. Three persons who died in the incident have been identified as Ram Khusum Das, Shiva Kumar and Lallan, all hailing from Uttar Pradesh. The injured have been identified as Gena ,Rajkumar, C Lotha and Surandar.

December 15: Two migrant traders were killed and four others were injured, when a powerful improvised explosive device (IED) exploded at a betel leaf market in Imphal on December 15

October 1: One Police madn died in an IED blast and 18 , (majority of them non-Manipuris) were injured in an IED blast at Thangal Bazar in Imphal West.

June 25: Scrap dealer from West Bengal, identified as Mohammed Maniruddin was shot in front of his rented room in Khoisnam Leikai Uripok in Imphal West District. He later died in RIMS in Imphal West District.

June 14: Three people identified as Bachaspatimayum Govind, Amakcham Anil and Phurailatpam Ibomcha were injured in an IED explosion in a laundry shop run by a non-Manipuri at Moirangkhong Sougaijam Leikai in Imphal West District.

May 29: Two migrant workers were killed and 18 injured in a remote controlled Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion in a crowded mini market shed of Singjamei Chinga makhong in Imphal on May 29. The dead have been identified as Arvind Rai and Shyam Shanker Rai, both from Bihar.

November 6: One migrant worker from Punjab was killed and six others were injured in a twin bomb blast in the night at Pallel Lamkhai in Thoubal District. Sources said that suspected militants activated two powerful bombs around 10.40 pm near the shacks where migrant workers engaged in the construction of a private house were sleeping.

October 29: Unidentified militants triggered an IED blast injuring five persons, including two students at Marwari Dharmashala in Imphal. The injured were identified as Abujam Arun (21), Raghunath Manto (35),and Shambhu Shaha (40), both from Sitamari District in Bihar, Kishan Chakraborty and Rajdweep Sharma.

October 6: Seven labourers of Coastal Project Limited engaged in the Jiribam-Tupul railway project have been injured when unidentified persons triggered a bomb blast near Kambiron in Tamenglong District. According to one of the victims, a similar blast took place about 12 days ago although there were no casualties.

September 29: At least four workers engaged in the unnelling of Jiribam (Imphal East District) to Tupul (Tamenglong District) railway line construction sustained injuries when a bomb planted by suspected militants exploded in front of the tunnel no. 8

September 13: At least nine migrant labourers were killed and 11 others were injured in an explosion inside a working shed located on the slab cover put up over Naga Nullah (drain) at Nagamapal in Imphal West District on September 13 at about 7.30pm. While five of them died at the spot, four other succumbed to their injuries later. All the labourers were engaged by Simplex Project Limited, Kolkata, which has been entrusted with the task of laying the slabs over Naga Nullah as well as to build the embankment. July 20: Two persons, including a salesman, sustained splinter injuries in a grenade attack at a store, M/S Sudhir Iron and Steel, at Hatta Golapti along New Checkon Road in Imphal East District. The injured persons were identified as Muhamad B. Hussain (36), a labourer, and Lakshmi Shah (27), a salesman. They sustained minor splinter injuries on their hands and faces.

June 27: Two non local migrant workers, both masons by profession were killed while four others were injured, including a local man, when unidentified miscreants lobbed a hand grenade at a rented room at Uripok Tourangbam Leikai in Imphal on June 27 at about 8 pm. Sources said that the incident occured while the six persons were sitting together at the rented room. The deceased have been identified as Rohit Kumar Das (28) and Ranjan Mahato (24) both from Begu Sarai, Bihar State while the three other non-locals, all from the same place have been named as Shikumar Das (22), Surendra Das (50), and Vijay Kumar Das (24). The local has been identified as Ayekpam Frankie (35).

December 7: Two AR personnel who were out on leave from their post at Maram in Senapati District were stabbed by some unidentified militants inside the bus they were travelling to Imphal. According to Police report, three personnel of Assam Rifles (5th Battalion) B-company posted at Maram were coming to Imphal in a passenger bus along with other 15-16 passengers when some unidentified militants stopped the bus near Khonghampat Mantri Leikai in Imphal West District and attacked the two non-local AR personnel with knives. The attackers also opened blank fire. The two injured AR personnel were identified as P Mahesh (27) and Ramana (21). The duo belonged to Andhra Pradesh. The third AR trooper is a local and his whereabouts is not known. A day later Naik Runkhna Ramana (21), one of the two injured AR personnel succumbed to his injuries.

November 5: An assistant secretary of CPI Bishnupur Block, identified as K. Manikumar (45), was shot at and injured by unidentified militants in Bishnupur District.

November 6: A non-local hawker sustained serious injury after being shot by unidentified militants at Keishampat Keisam Leikai along the Wahengbam leikai road under the Imphal West Police Station. The victim was identified as one Gajendra (55) of Ngasari village in Motihari District of Bihar.

October 29: A non local, identified as Subloo Das (30), who was missing since midnight of October 26 was found dead suspiciously near Langnom village under Jiribam Police Station in Imphal East District.

September 16: A non-local washer man was shot at and wounded by two unidentified militants near City Jr. High School at Takhellambam Leikai in Imphal West District.

September 9: A non-local working in a tea hotel was fired upon by some unidentified militants at Kei-shamthong Hodam Leirak on Tiddim road junction in Imphal West District. However, he managed to escape unhurt.

August 24: A non-local was shot dead by two unidentified assailants in front of the gate of his rented house at Wahengbam Ningol Chaibi of Wahengbam Makha Leikai in Imphal West District.

August 2: A suspected non-local migrant worker was found shot dead by unidentified militants at Kongba Laishram Leikai under Porompat Police Station of Imphal East District. One live ammunition of 6.55-mm was recovered from the incident site. Meanwhile, with increase in violent attacks on migrant workers, a relief camp for them has been set up at Dharmashala in Thangal Bazar.

July 29: Two non-local waste collectors were shot dead by suspected militants at Maiphailup in Kamjong of Ukhrul District.

April 2: The dead body of a non-local inhabitant was recovered by Nungba Police along the National Highway-53 in Tamenglong District.

March 29: The dead body of a non-local inhabitant was recovered at Darchin village under Tengnoupal Police Station in Chandel District.

January 6: A non-local worker, Shymal Arya (27), was shot dead by unidentified militants at Singjamei Bheigabati Leikai under Porompat Police Station in Imphal East District. He belongs to Dhalbali village of Khusbihar District in West Bengal. He was working as a helper of a bakery in Manipur.

December 16: Two non-local persons are shot dead by unidentified militants at Chingmeirong Kabui Khul under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal East District. They are identified as Gajindra Ram (45) of Motihar District in Bihar and Subas Yadav (35) of Cachar Chingdong Leikai in Assam.

December 15: One non-local street hawker, Deepak Kumar Shahu (28), is shot dead by unidentified militants at Pangei Haotal under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East District.

November 9: A migrant labourer working in capital Imphal, Shankar Sahu, is shot dead by unidentified militants. "We got information that a non-Manipuri was shot by some unidentified militants. So we rushed to the spot. At that time Shankar Sahu was lying unconscious. So our Police party brought him to JN hospital for medical treatment," said Sub-Inspector of Police, H. Darwin Singh. But he succumbed to his injury, he added.

November 8: A non-local grocery items hawker, Shankar Sahu, was shot at and wounded by suspected militants at Lamlai Bazaar under Lamlai Police Station in Imphal East District.

November 2: A non-local scrap collector is shot dead by suspected militants at Takyel SAI complex road in Imphal West District. The slain civilian was identified as Mohammed Kalam Shaikh (40), a resident of West Bengal. Two empty cases of AK series rifle are recovered from the encounter site.

October 31: A non-Manipuri trader is shot dead by unidentified militants at Wangoo Laipham Chuthek, a semi-urban area in Thoubal District. The victim, identified as 47-year-old Jai Shankar Prasad of Balia District in Uttar Pradesh, was a meat-seller at Sagang village, located 19 kilometres from the District headquarters of Thoubal.

August 9: A non-local civilian from the State of Bihar, Gagan, is shot at and wounded by unidentified militants at Chingmeirong Kabui Khul area in Imphal East District.

July 28: Two unidentified militants kill a non-local hawker while selling sweets to a 10-year-old boy, Tongbram Tomba Singh, who also sustains injuries in the attack at Sagolband Moirang Hanuba along the National Highway 53 in Imphal West District.

July 27: Unidentified militants shoot at and injure a non-local trader, identified as Laldev Batta from the State of Bihar, who has settled at Sowombung Kabui Khunjao under Lamlai Police Station in Imphal East District.

July 20: One non-local labourer, Krishna Sharma, is abducted by unidentified militants while traveling in a vehicle on the National Highway 39 between Chingmeirong and Laipham Khunou in Imphal East District.

July 11: One Uttam Kalita, (29), staying at a rented house at Sagolband in Imphal West and working at an iron and steel workshop in Imphal East, was shot at by unidentified militants at Bijoygovinda area of the Imphal West. Kalita, who hails from Guwahati in Assam, said two unidentified militants came on a scooter and fired at him at Bijoygovinda, very close to his rented house, at 1.45 (IST) in the afternoon.

June 15: A non-local cobbler from the State of Bihar, Prabhu Prasad, is assaulted by an unidentified militant at Lamphel in Imphal West District. Subsequent to the attack, Police brought four migrants staying in Lamphel, including the injured, to the Kalibari relief camp opened by the Government for migrants in Imphal. Another camp is opened at the local dharamshala (guest house). So far, 22 migrants have been killed in Manipur in 2009.

June 11: Four non-local labourers are killed and one more injured when unidentified militants open fire on them inside the Central Agriculture University campus at Iroisemba under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West District.

June 5: A non-local barber is shot dead by the UNLF militants at Wabagai Lamkhai in Thoubal District. A UNLF sympathiser, involved in the killing, is subsequently arrested by a combined force of the Thoubal District Police and Assam Rifles. However, two other UNLF militants, involved in the killing, manage to escape from the incident site. Superintendent of Police of Thoubal District, Clay Khongsai, announces a cash reward of INR 50,000 to any individual or Security Force personnel who can give information about the two absconding UNLF cadres.

June 4: Two non-local migrant labourers are shot dead by unidentified militants at Leimaram area in Bishnupur District.

June 3: A non-local trader, Havinder Yadav, is shot dead by unidentified militants inside his shop along Ayangpalli Road of Khurai Lamlong Keithel under Porompat Police Station in Imphal East District.

May 19: A non-local resident is injured when two unidentified militants open fire on him at Yumnam Huidrom area under Wangoi Police Station in Imphal West District. He belongs to the Mangura area of Kushi Nagar in the State of Uttar Pradesh.

May 14: A non-local barber, Manton, is killed by suspected militants belonging to Military Council faction of the KCP at Takyel under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West District.

May 11: Unidentified militants kill nine non-locals inside the Keibul Lamjao National Park at Khordak Awang Leikai area in Bishnupur District. The dead bodies of five slain persons have been recovered so far. Sources say the killing is a revenge attack for the reverses suffered by the PREPAK militants in the counter-insurgency operation (Summer Storm) conducted jointly by the Army and Manipur Police in April 2009. Meanwhile, another report mentions that five slain persons, whose dead bodies are recovered, are suspected to be central Security Force personnel.

March 23: A non-local trader, identified as Deepak Kumar Gupta, is shot dead by unidentified militants at Thangal Bazaar area in Imphal West District.

March 21: A non-local labourer is shot dead by suspected militants at Sekmaijin in Imphal West District.

March 1: A non-local civilian is shot dead by unidentified militants at his rented house in the Singjamei Phuramakhong area under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West District. The victim is identified as Sarjiban belonging to Majitpur area in Bihar. The militants also take away a cell phone from the incident site.

A non-local sugarcane juice seller is shot dead by three suspected militants at Kwakeithel bazaar area in Imphal West District. The slain person is identified as Rajkumar Chaudhary belonging to Bakshat Pakari area in the State of Bihar.

February 28: A non-local barber is shot dead by a suspected militant inside his saloon at Sagolband area in Imphal West District. The slain barber is identified as Suresh Thakur belonging to Chhapra District in the State of Bihar.

December 14: A non-local scrap collector is shot dead by unidentified militants at Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West District. Two empty cases of 9-mm ammunition are recovered by the Police from the incident site.

September 15: The dead body of a non-local trader, a vegetable supplier for the Army, identified as Mohammed Luthapu Rehman, hailing from Tuphanpur in Madhepura District of Bihar, is recovered by Police personnel from Irengban under Nambol Police station in Bishnupur District. Police suspect that he was abducted by the militants on September 14 and was later shot dead.

September 6: One non-local salesman of a grocery shop, identified as Sushil Kumar, is shot at and wounded by suspected militants at Telipati in Imphal West District. Sushil Kumar was reportedly from Assam.

August 23: The house of a non-local trader, Arjun Sharma, at New Chekon under Porompat Police station in Imphal East District is attacked by suspected Kuki militants.

July 29: One non-local, Suraj Ram, is shot at and injured by suspected militants at Khoyathong Pukhri Mapal in Imphal East District.

July 19: A non-local is shot at and injured by two KCP cadres at Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai under Irilbung Police station Imphal East District on the alleged charge of being a 'sub-agent of the Indian Army's military intelligence'.

July 15: One non-local carpenter, identified as Hari Sharma of Bihar, is shot dead by suspected militants at Khoyathong Polem Leikai in Imphal West District.

March 19: One Hindi-speaking person was killed by unidentified militants at Kumbi in the Bishenpur District.

March 18: Unidentified militants killed seven Hindi-speaking labourers and injured two others injured. While five persons were killed at Thumbi foothill in the Kangla Sangomsang area of Imphal East district, two others were shot dead at Kakching in Thoubal District.

March 17: At least seven Hindi-speaking people were shot dead by unidentified militants at Mayang Imphal Hanglun in the capital Imphal. The victims were sellers of tobacco products, which were banned by the PLA.
